چکیده

Currently, ceramics are widely used in various industry branches, especially energy, chemistry, and aerospace, as well medicine. Yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) having unique electrical, thermal, mechanical properties is one of the most popular for such applications. In this study, influence sintering temperature yttria percentage on microstructure behavior YSZ have been investigated. Corresponding mixtures ZrO2 powder doped with 3 6 mol% Y2O3 powders (hereinafter: 3YSZ 6YSZ) were prepared, a series ceramic specimens sintered argon at 1450 °C, 1500 1550 °C 2 h. Changes morphology size microstructural components their distribution analyzed respect to mode, phase composition, flexural strength, fracture surface morphology. The 6YSZ h respectively, exhibited highest levels strength due presence agglomerates fine tetragonal particles high bond larger grains monoclinic phase. dominant micromechanisms both related discussed.

WEAR REESISTANCE OF NANOSTRUCTURED AND CONVENTIONAL YTTRIA-STABILIZED ZIRCONIA COATINGS

Partially stabilized zirconia (PSZ) has been proven to be an excellent candidate as a thermal barrier coating (TBe) for hot sections in, for instance, heat or internal combustion engines and gas turbine parts. The main functions of these coatings are reducing heat losses, reducing fuel consumption, increasing efficiency, and extending durability and life. One of the main problems involved is we...

Morphology and thermal conductivity of yttria-stabilized zirconia coatings

An electron beam directed vapor deposition method was used to grow 7 wt.% Y2O3–ZrO2 (7YSZ) coatings and the effects of substrate rotation upon the coating porosity, morphology, texture, and thermal conductivity were explored. As the rotation rate was increased, the texture changed from Æ111æ to Æ100æ. Under stationary deposition, the coatings were composed of straight columns, while low-frequen...

Fracture resistance of yttria-stabilized zirconia dental implant abutments.

PURPOSE An in vitro study was performed to assess the effect of different degrees of clinical reduction of zirconia abutments on the failure load of clinical assemblies. MATERIALS AND METHODS Zirconia abutments (Y-TZP Ceramic Abutment, Astra Tech) were prepared with 0, 0.5, or 1 mm of external axial reduction starting 1 mm above the height-of-contour. Abutments (n = 10) were attached to impla...

Effect of impurities on sintering and conductivity of yttria-stabilized zirconia

The effect of low concentrations of Fe203, AI203 and Bi203 on the sintering behaviour of (ZrO2)o.83 (YO1.s)o.17, made by alkoxide synthesis, has been investigated. The best results are achieved with Bi203 as a sinter agent and a relative density of 95% is obtained at 1200 K. The effects of these impurities on the electrical conductivity of the bulk and the grain boundaries has been investigated...
